Founded in love, sustained by community, driven by compassion.
Love Thy Neighbor exists to help people in our community who are facing their most difficult challenges. We focus on the home so families can focus on healing. Through free cleaning services, a self-serve food pantry, and a thrift store that funds our mission, we shoulder the burden of daily life for cancer patients, disabled veterans, families with terminally ill or handicapped children, and neighbors in need throughout the Tampa Bay area.
Joanne Braccio is a woman on a mission to help people. With over 35 years of experience in the cleaning industry, she owns and operates Maid to Order, a cleaning service she built from scratch in St. Petersburg.
After experiencing the personal loss of her veteran brother and witnessing firsthand how cancer and other deadly diseases affect people and families on the most basic level, Joanne decided to give back to her community in a meaningful way.
Joanne is a mother, a business owner, and someone deeply in love with her community. Her vision has expanded from free cleanings to include a food pantry serving 2,000 families monthly and a thrift store where 100% of profits support community programs.
"I don't just want to help during treatment. I want to help people truly live with dignity while they focus on what matters most: family and healing."
Joanne Braccio establishes Love Thy Neighbor in honor of her brother, beginning free cleaning services for cancer patients in the St. Pete area.
Services expand to include disabled veterans, families with terminally ill children, and the elderly. Partnership formed with Cleaning for a Reason.
Recognizing growing food insecurity, Love Thy Neighbor opens a self-serve food pantry. The dignified shopping model allows families to choose items they need.
Thrift store opens to create sustainable funding for the food pantry. 100% volunteer-run, all profits support community programs and homeless outreach.
Food pantry moves from 300 to 1,000 square feet, tripling capacity. Now serving 2,000 families per month with room to grow.
